AUTOSAR Runtime Environment and Virtual Function Bus
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper presents a selected set of concepts of the AUTomotive Open System ARchitecture. Runtime Environment (RTE) and the Virtual Function Bus (VFB) are core parts of the AUTOSAR system design and facilitate relocatability of software components, one of the key features of AUTOSAR. The goal of this paper is to show how the RTE and the VFB work together in order to realizes relocatability and locationßtransparent interaction. A detailed view on the responsibilities of the Runtime Environment is shown as well as how artifacts from the level of the Virtual Function Bus are used for the generation of the RTE. Further, the concepts of runnables and the RTE mechanisms for their management will be shown in detail. Finally, an overview on hardware interaction mechanisms in the AUTOSAR architecture with respect to the Runtime Environment will be presented. Faster Development of AUTOSAR compliant ECUs through simulation
Virtualization allows the simulation of automotive ECUs on a Windows PC executing in a closed-loop with a vehicle simulation model. This approach enables moving many development tasks from road or test rigs and HiL (Hardware in the loop) to PCs, where they can often be performed faster and cheaper. Technical challenge: How to port ECU tasks and basic software to Windows PC with reasonable effor...
متن کاملOperating Systems Technology for Converged ECUs
The number of ECUs in modern cars is increasing, with top-of-the-line luxury cars featuring in excess of 100 processors. For example Volkswagen’s Phaeton possesses about 70 to 100, depending on the version. The large number of ECUs is causing problems with cost, complexity and even space. AUTOSAR [AUT] is the automotive industry’s emerging standard software architecture, specifically designed t...
متن کاملApplying the Component Paradigm to AUTOSAR Basic Software
Current trends in embedded systems software for the automotive domain aim at an increase of reusability, exchangeability and maintainability, and thus at a significant reduction of timeand costs-to-market. One way to reach these goals is the adaption of Component Based Software Engineering (CBSE) for resource constrained embedded systems. The Automotive Open System Architecture (AUTOSAR), an up...

متن کاملVirtual Validation of Cyber Physical Systems
The increasing importance of Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) yields new challenges for their systematic and efficient quality assurance. CPS are characterized by open and heterogeneous architectures and environments. For embedded systems, this implies a separation of the currently very tight integration of hardware and software components. Development and testing of these systems require new devel...
